  1. No surprises there. The rich have got wealthier recently while the poor have gotten poorer. Rich schools have got richer, most schools have got poorer. Tory Britain.

  2. There was a podcast episode on “reasons to be cheerful” years ago explaining that capital investment for extensions on primarily religious schools was mostly paid for by the schools. The government changed the rules to give a higher % of government subsidy. Did we need that? Don’t know honestly. Does is hand more of the states money to religious schools? Apparently yes a lot. This is a possible example of that.

  3. I went to a public school that couldn’t even afford to offer drama as we didn’t have a teacher, fuck private schools.

    EDIT: I went to a state school, turns out that public schools are actually private which is wild.

  4. They always seem to be able to open new buildings with state of the art equipment. They are never short of donations, especially from foreign alumni or parents.
