JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) – The Jackson County Health Department is hosting a back-to-school bash on Tuesday, July 15.
The event will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
You can register at jchdonline.org.
They say appointments are encouraged, but not required.
In addition to back-to-school vaccines, health department leaders say free backpacks, school supplies and car seat installs and checks will be provided.
They say fluoride treatment is available for children up to age 5, excluding kindergartners.
According to the health department, now is the time to check your child’s shot record and make sure they meet school vaccination requirements.
The requirements for the 2025-2026 school year are the same as the previous year. You can click here for the requirements.
The Jackson County Health Department is a Vaccines for Children provider, which means low-cost shots are available for qualifying children.
Immunization services are given by appointment Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with additional hours on Tuesdays until 5:30 p.m.
They ask that you bring your child’s shot record and insurance information with you.
