  1. **St Stephen’s Green** ([Irish](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_language): *Faiche Stiabhna*)[^([2])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Stephen%27s_Green#cite_note-Irish_name-2) is a [garden square](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_square) and [public park](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_park) located in the [city centre](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_centre) of Dublin, Ireland. The current landscape of the park was designed by William Sheppard. It was officially re-opened to the public on Tuesday, 27 July 1880 by [Lord Ardilaun](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Guinness,_1st_Baron_Ardilaun).[^([3])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Stephen%27s_Green#cite_note-autogenerated1-3)[^([4])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Stephen%27s_Green#cite_note-4) The square is adjacent to one of Dublin’s main shopping streets, [Grafton Street](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grafton_Street), and to a [shopping centre](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen%27s_Green_Shopping_Centre) named after it, while on its surrounding streets are the offices of a number of public bodies as well as a stop on one of Dublin’s [Luas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luas) tram lines. It is often informally called Stephen’s Green. At 22 acres (8.9 ha), it is the largest of the parks in Dublin’s main Georgian [garden squares](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_square). Others include nearby [Merrion Square](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrion_Square) and Fitzwilliam Square.

  2. Nice! Looks well kept. I’ve never been there. Is it a nice place to walk through? Is there ever trouble there or is it as well kept and friendly as it looks? Never seen it from this angle/view btw, did you take this pic?

  3. Trying to work out from the Luas and road markings when this photo was taken. 2016?

  4. Always an amazing place to visit, especially early in the morning before the city wakes up. Visit every time we go home.

  5. I think on the Continent that would be a large cobbled plaza, glad it’s not.
