What do we think of this

  1. We’re an island of strategic importance to the EU. Most other countries have their pull factors (for business) and we too need ours. I can see why people might begrudge that but business isn’t always nice. It worked out well for us as Irish and we don’t mean any harm by it either, just trying to make the most of our little island.

  2. I am not sure how you say Meeeooowww in Irish but Meeeooowwww , now go suck up that saucer of Milk. Ireland Abu

  3. Crib-notes passed out to online Tories.

It one of the few things they think they can make us out to be as bad, or worse, as them so they go on and on about it.

All the while ignoring that Britain has a vast tax avoidance network set up around the world.

  4. Really don’t care. I’ve always been of the opinion that there is no friends in international diplomacy, only degrees of shared interests. We found out how far EU solidarity goes in 2008.

  5. I think you should ask in a less biased sub if you really are interested. It’s not wrong, but we’re one of several EU countries doing that

  6. Well it depends on where in Europe that user is from who made the comment about Ireland. For example if from France they have the economic benefit off their former empire and all the accumulated wealth that they stole.
Ireland is a small island on the north west of Europe with not much resources, we need a unique selling point plus we speak English and have strong cultural connections to the USA.
