Chelsea beats PSG 3-0 for Club World Cup title as Palmer scores twice • FRANCE 24 English

on stage to present trophies to the club World Cup winners Chelsea after they beat Paris Sanja Ma 30-0. Donald Trump was met with booze and whistles, but the US president remained on stage as the team celebrated their victory. Chelsea’s captain Cole Palmer said it was confusing why the US president remained on the podium after presenting him with the golden ball with the top player award. For Chelsea fans, nothing could dampen the team’s win. [Applause] I knew we could do some damage because we have the talent, we have the quality in our players uh to go and give them a game and it was going to be about the details and we took care of the details pretty well today with Palmer scoring two of the goals and Jiao Pedro bagging a third all in the first half. PSG never managed to bounce back, much to the dismay of their fans. It’s disappointing in terms of the season and everything they’ve shown us so far that they’re fighters and warriors. Disappointing regarding great soccer that everyone expects and hopes to see. It’s been a long season. They’re European champions. They haven’t had a vacation, so I think they’re a bit tired now. And Chelsea have been better. European and French champions. PSG was coming off of a memorable season. They’d been the favorites, but Chelsea had other plans to ensure that the spotlight and the win was theirs. Bringing to a close the first cup world cup which has been marred by controversy over whether yet another international competition is needed.

Cole Palmer scored twice and fed João Pedro for a goal as Chelsea overwhelmed Paris Saint-Germain in the first half and beat the European champions 3-0 on Sunday in the final of the first expanded Club World Cup. Story by Solange Mougin.
