Well, this is nice and good news, but to but it into perspective:
* It is only electricity and not primary energy
* “India said on Monday it has achieved 50% of its installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources”: It is only installed capacity and not energy produced.
In reality this is more likely about 25% of electric energy produced (in 2024 it was 22%: [https://ember-energy.org/countries-and-regions/india/](https://ember-energy.org/countries-and-regions/india/) )
It would be great if news would always be clear about what the numbers are saying.
