WASHINGTON (TNND) — Elon Musk’s tech company xAI, announced a $200 million contract with the Pentagon for their AI software, Grok.

The new contract created Grok for Government, “a suite of frontier AI products available to United States Government customers,” according to the announcement. It will also be available for purchase through the General Services Administration, which allows any federal office to adopt the technology.

Grok, which was originally used on Musk’s platform X, recently came under fire for antisemitic statements. Grok suggested that people who express “anti-white hate” often have Jewish last names and would have been “crushed” by Adolf Hitler.

The software was also recently updated to its fourth version.

Musk said Grok 4 can reason at “superhuman levels” and noted how artificial intelligence is “advancing just vastly faster than any human.”

“The reasoning capabilities of Grok are incredible. So, there’s some people out there who think AI can’t reason, and it-it can reason at superhuman levels,” Musk said. “So, yeah. And frankly, it only gets better from here.”

Musk also recently left his role as a special government employee as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, even as he remains in contracts with the federal government.
