Rokas Jokubaitis has hinted that his chapter with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv could be nearing its conclusion.
Despite having two years remaining on his contract, the situation changed drastically after the Iranian attacks on Israel, which led to the cancellation of the Israeli championship.
“We’ll see in a few days — it’s like an open secret here,” the Lithuanian guard told BasketNews upon joining the national team camp. “Let’s wait a few more days, maybe even tomorrow, there will be news.”
Jokubaitis described the stress and urgency of evacuating the country with his family during the conflict.
With his future uncertain, the 24-year-old is now linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich.
Earlier this season, he also held talks with his former club, Zalgiris, though those discussions took place when he was still happy at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
“It’s true, we did talk, but we didn’t reach an agreement,” Jokubaitis explained. “The most important thing is that there was no anger — everything was respectful and positive. I’m happy about that. There were no bad feelings.”
In 28 EuroLeague games last season, Jokubaitis averaged 12.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and posted a PIR of 15.6.
