France enters race to mass-produce drones • FRANCE 24 English
From a few grams to several tons, drones perform all kinds of functions in military operations today. They are lookouts, spies, submarines, bombers, and kamicazis. In Ukraine, this former military pilot has seen drones change the face of battlefields entirely. Now, tanks are very vulnerable, whereas in the past, they were the ultimate weapon. Today we send out a 500 euro kamicazi drone and it can destroy tanks costing millions. Ukraine consumes 10,000 kamicazi drones a day and Russia between 6 and 8,000. And drone technology continues to evolve. On this test base south of Paris, engineers are performing a trial with a group of drones in order to enable a single soldier to pilot six devices with a simple voice command. should and the French army is ramping up its capacities. These suitcases hold lightweight drones. We consulted manufacturers. We specified our requirements and we’re going to deliver 1,000 drones to meet the needs of combatants before the end of the year. Other drones are being studied, for example, to accompany ships and even supersonic planes. In 2033, Raphael pilots will be able to command a drone from their cockpit for the most complex missions. This will enable them to be much stealthier and to penetrate areas that we might not be able to penetrate today with an F4, F5, or fall, thus reducing the risk. New drone technology will enable them almost to reach outer space. Take the Zephier for example. It can climb to an altitude of 30 km and stay there to observe troop movements. The solar panels allow it to recharge in perpetuity.
On the eve of France’s national holiday, President Emmanuel Macron announced a €6.5 billion increase in defence spending over the next two years. One area in particular that the French army wants to play catch up in is in drone technology. Report by J-C. Batteria, A. Fischer and S. Moritz.

Voice commands seems like an incredibly inefficient way to handle drone swarms, I'd imagine it's just a way for the promotional videos they put out not to reveal any detail of the actual control equipment or software.
100 procent adabt in modern warfare ! 🫡
Much as the USA, France is not a reliable security partner and should not be trusted.
humans are insidious
I apologize for the lot of us who insist on working like ants to annihilate the species
There is no business like the war business…
1000 drones by the end of the year, when Ukraine is using 10000 a day. What’s wrong with doing math behind closed doors doors?
The Drone Wars
To accomplish what? are you militarizing? To talk boldly at others?
Lol the US and EU can’t even match China’s drone production and they can churn out millions in a DAY. Now who you gonna buy those batteries from ? And rare earths ?
Fantastic! Now they get to surrender autonomously!
Drones are not a national task, but a European one. The challenge is not about propulsion, aerodynamics, or sensors, but rather about software and data security. One country alone cannot achieve this. Europe is still dependent on the USA in this field and vulnerable to the Russians and Chinese.
"Another factory ablace in France". Will we soon see such headlines?
0:16 he's not a former pilot …
Are the parts " made in China"?
The only way to fight a safe war is underground.
…. Sure go cruising around using MY E. …blah blah. btw stinky!!!!…..CAN YOU BELIEVE THOSE clowns ????
