2025 is the year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix contract runs out, and then what’s next? What’s next, according to some insiders, is a non-exclusive deal that will carry a lesser weight financially than their previous one.
But would Netflix be willing to shell out another millions in the hopes that the Sussexes still have some golden eggs to lay?
Well, if Harry is willing to loosen his lips on some royal secrets then yes, Netflix might be convinced to renew their contract. And Harry does need the edge: rumors say Netflix plans to cut Prince Harry even if they end up retaining his wife Meghan.
Prince Harry Made Grave Mistake By Admitting He’s Still Sitting On Some Royal Secrets
If Harry is sufficiently riled, and I mean sufficiently riled, he’d tell you that there are still royal secrets that if he were to release, the whole world would just go nuclear. Or at least something like that.
In May, during his BBC interview, he revealed that certain individuals stood in his way as he fought to regain his taxpayer-funded police security. He said he was willing to name said individuals, but on a later date and in a way that would most likely be more convenient for him.
Some time or other in the past, he’s also admitted that there are hoardes of royal secrets that he has chosen not to reveal in ‘Spare,’ or at least ‘Spare 1.0.’ For one thing, ‘Spare’ was supposed to be 800 pages long, but to spare his family the horror, he mercifully cut it down to 400.
He explained: “It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.”
“But there are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me. Now you could argue that some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway.”
Royal Expert On Why Another Netflix Contract For the Sussexes May Prove Damaging To the Royal Family
Royal Correspondent at 5 News, Simon Viger believes that if Netflix were to sign another contract with Harry, they’re doing it because they want to know what other royal secrets he’s keeping locked up in the vault.
Viger told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show: “My issue with Netflix is Harry has said there’s stuff he’s kept back that he hasn’t put in the book, that he didn’t put in the documentary. And he’s never going to talk about it.”
“If the Netflix deal is continuing, they’re going to say, ‘look, so much for behind the scenes at Polo and flower sprinkles, we actually want to know what else there is.’”
