I think those not in the cult are continually looking for any sign of its demise, weakening, or even just deserts- but the wish for long-desired schadenfreude isn’t going to change what those people are made of. Even if and when their support for Trump and his cronies result in their direct misfortune, they will still refuse to blame him. Or, they’ll change reality to fit whatever horrid situation they find themselves in. We have to stop hoping for some kind of insight or turnaround.
