John Torode axed from MasterChef after racism claim as BBC issues statement

1. Is there anyone left on the show then? Who’s next in line Mr. Blobby?? Hope he hasn’t been texting creepy racist shit recently has he??

2. What a load of nonsense, why now 7/8 years later? Who cares? Just screams virtue signalling

3. A bloke loses his job over a comment allegedly made 7 years ago which he vehemently denies and there is no verified evidence of ever being said. 

   Pretty outrageous stuff all round. 

   How does anyone stand any chance against allegations like this which are literally impossible to defend but completely destroy careers?

4. I think it differs from Wallace in a number of ways

   Firstly, Wallace had a pattern of behaviour over many, many years. It didn’t seem to have been a one-off thing with him. With Torode, all that’s come out is one incident from 7 years ago, which he denies and, even if he did say it, he immediately apologised for?

   That’s a bit tenuous…..

   Also, with Wallace, the most serious part of it for me was the allegations about inappropriate touching and getting his kit off, several of which were upheld.

   With the Torode thing, I want to know what this one comment actually was so I can make my own mind up.

8. I guess hes seen as the partner of Gregg, even though they clearly are not. But being on screen together there’s too much association, so they’ve thrown him under the bus.

9. Sounds like they just wanted an excuse to get rid of him, compared to Wallace it’s nothing. Ridiculous that he can get sacked over such a thin allegation.

10. Claire Balding said to a grand national winner several years ago, literally as he was celebrating, that he could use the winnings to “get his teeth fixed”. Yet she has been the darling of sports coverage for years. Double standards rules OK at auntie Beeb?!

    If everyone that has said something slightly problematic would be fired, im sure 5-10 million brits are gonna be looking for a new job..

    I hope he gets his job back on appeal cause this is just the bbc wanting a soft reboot of masterchef and using the flimsiest of excuses to fire Torode.

    Just ‘cos you don’t remember it doesn’t make it go away. All sorts happens in celebrity circles that people tend to ignore. Racism would come below many such things in importance. Everyone forgetting celebrity British white paedophiles for convenience?
