Could someone help me translate this photo. I found it at an antique store in Missouri, not sure if it could even be Pennsylvania Dutch. I hope I’m not offending anyone just looking for some knowledge.

  1. Befiehl dem Herrn deine Wege und hoffe auf ihn er wird’s wohl machen.

Command the lord your way and hope for him he will probably/likely do it.

  2. Report the lord
    Yours ways.
    And put hope in him.
    He will
    Hopefully/ well help/ do it.

Wohl – could be well or something like probably/ hopefully

  3. Wow! Than you so much! I had tried google translate and I just couldn’t get the last few words to make sense.

  4. „Wohl“ in older contexts means „well“ or „good“.
    The pronounciation makes the difference.

    My Interpretation:

Trust the Lord / with your ways /and hope on him / he will / make it well.

    That was a bit litteral.

Lay your ways to the lord and trust in him, he will make it good.
