SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — While the vice president of the United States continued his Southern California trip, he spent some time at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton over the weekend.

Vance served in the Marines from 2003 to 2007, according to the U.S. Marines, which said he led the hike to reinforce the values of camaraderie and unit cohesion.
Second Lady Usha Vance joins military families at Camp Pendleton for reading celebration
The vice president and second lady had been in Southern California since the Fourth of July weekend when they spent time in San Diego as Vance was attending events as the finance chair of the Republican Party and received an award from the Claremont Institute. The vice president’s motorcade was also spotted around town that weekend.
Second Lady Usha Vance joined military families at Camp Pendleton on Thursday, July 10 for a reading celebration as she read to children and spoke about her personal connection to Camp Pendleton.

The vice president, second lady and family were then spotted at Disneyland on Saturday, July 12.
