As op cant be arsed
>Per the medical examiner, Raines hanged herself in the barn on her property in Faribault, Minn. She was found dead on June 20.
I read she was bullied for saving foxes. This world is some place, humans have turned it into a cesspool. I’m sure there were other factors involved but I hope those bullies feel like scum. RIP
That’s really sad. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
What a waste. Seems she was doing good work. Online bullying is disgusting and dangerous, especially for those with more fragile minds. Like it’s already been said if she wasn’t looking after the animals correctly there are channels for that but to attack her personally is abhorrent and cowardly.
This is why social media is a stain on humanity.

I’m crying 😢 😭😭
Why must the good and pure die young!? 😭
At least regarding the online dimension, a lot of her bullies deleted their accounts/posts and things after, e.g. Kazeolion.
It’s not for anyone to know if it’s happening, but I think there are legal pathways that could be pursued – some laws in Minnesota re cyber bullying at least?
From what I have learned, there seems to genuinely be disgusting people in animal rescue…which took a while to process. Of course it’s not bereft of genuinely good people, but the fact that other rescues contributed to what Mikayla faced is harrowing.
It was a really difficult spot to be in;
– We usually are advised to stay off social media if it gets to us, but she leveraged it for funds and awareness.
– Perhaps mental health conditions should be kept personal, but we’re in an influencer age; so being public could help/inspire others, and I think Mikayla may have wanted to do that on the side.
– For engagement purposes, she probably had to keep comments on and be active on different media, but that just led to more exposure to negativity.
the internet was a mistake
>PEOPLE has reached out to both Ethan and a contact for Save a Fox for comment
So all the comments they referenced in article weren’t enough?
