I’d be a bigger fan of the aul “UK & Irish Tour” term. Hopefully “British Isles Tour” doesn’t catch on…..

  1. Stop being so sensitive

Edit: Holly Lovelady is a 22 year old singer songwriter from Liverpool, UK

  2. Edit: she’s taking it down and reuploading a better one tomorrow! She’s very gracious about it, please be kind.

I just DMed her on Instagram and kindly pointed it out, maybe if a few people did it in a gentle way and not hateful she might change it.

  3. “British Isles” reeks of colonialism.

I’m from Scotland and I don’t use it.

“these two islands” or “these islands” works fine.

The singer must be English or American ?

  4. Going to delete this now anyway as I’m sure she’s aware of it. Last thing I’d want is a bunch of people messaging her angrily or something

  5. British Isles is a *geographical* term, and not a *political* one. And *British* means *Celtic* anyway. So, maybe we could be slightly less precious? ***I doubt she’s arriving with an army of Norman soldiers at the behest of the deposed King of Leinster.***

  6. The Ukrainians would prefer if you didn’t say “THE Ukraine” or “Kiev”: No problem.

The Irish would prefer if you didn’t say “British Isles”: Nope…
