  2. Democrats must organize urgently for the 2026 midterm elections and avoid a “it can’t happen here” mentality to stop Donald Trump from staging a full-scale autocratic takeover, a Hungarian opposition parliamentarian has said.

    Katalin Cseh, a critic of Hungary’s strongman prime minister, Viktor Orbán, told a forum on authoritarianism that the central European country’s experience held vital lessons for Trump’s opponents in their attempts to resist his assaults on US institutions and democratic norms since his return to the White House.

The problem is the Democrats are primarily made up of teacher’s pet types who have no cards to play other than “write another article about how someone should do something.” Half the party seems to be in this wierd fetal-position schadenfreude where they can go “haha, it’s all going bad but only because the voters are dumb! We’re smart and we said this would be bad and now its bad.” No, the smart guys were the ones who have been silently organizing this takeover for decades. Democrats failed to codify Roe v Wade, failed to get RBG off the bench, failed to prosecute J6 and Trump, and we used all of the media spotlight we had on LGBT issues, womens issues etc over the past 8-10 years to do a bunch of dumb performative nonsense like renaming things and painting rainbows on shit, which has all been wiped away easily. Republicans are evil but Democrats are incompetent.
