ZAGREB, 17 July 2025 – Leading Croatian bakery producer and distributor Pan-pek has become part of the top Polish bakery group Inter Europol, the company announced on Wednesday.
The current management team at Pan-pek will remain in charge, and the company’s daily operations will continue without any changes.
The acquisition comes following a transfer of full ownership from Polish Enterprise VII, a private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors, to Inter Europol. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Founded in 1989, Inter Europol is a family-owned company with over 35 years of experience in the bakery sector. Its fresh and frozen products are distributed across Europe and international markets. The company is known for its focus on natural ingredients and clean label standards, and it has stated clear ambitions to grow further in Croatia, the wider region and southern Europe.
“This acquisition marks the continuation of Pan-pek’s long-term growth strategy,” the statement said. “The current management remains at the helm of the company, and daily operations will proceed without changes. The new ownership structure brings additional opportunities for investment in production capacity, sales and distribution development, product range expansion, and employee growth.”
Pan-pek has grown into one of the leading producers of frozen bakery goods in the Adriatic region, supplying major retail chains and operating a network of over 70 of its own stores. The company employs nearly 800 people across its production facilities and retail network.
With the support of Inter Europol, Pan-pek aims to strengthen its market position while remaining committed to product quality, innovation, sustainable development and employee development.
Enterprise Investors, which managed the Polish Enterprise VII fund, also announced the sale of its 100 percent stake in Pan-pek on Wednesday.
The fund became the majority owner in 2018 and the full owner in 2020. Under its leadership, Pan-pek expanded its production capacities and began exporting to Italy and the United States.
Enterprise Investors is one of the largest private equity firms in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its founding in 1990, it has raised funds for ten investment vehicles. These funds have invested €2.4 billion in 161 companies and exited 140 of them.
