As most stuff coming out of this war, this is tragic. However, I actually didn’t understand the main point of the video, namely:
* Was the sale of such systems part of the sanctions in 2016? I got the impression that it was but I am not sure.
* If it was, and it was ignored, how was it ignored? I don’t think Thales would be flat out ignoring a trade ban, their lifeblood is govt investment.
Essentially, how did those systems end in those vehicles, and whose fault is it if anyone’s?
For example how do you know the systems had not been stockpiled prior to sanctions ?
Hell I don’t even know if sanctions for military hardware were in place in 2016. Which you know, they clearly should have been, but all EU govts dropped the ball back then and we can’t undo our sales.
