  1. I’ll try break it down a bit for you.

So you can only stay for a maximum of one hour and it’s 50p to park for an hour.

  2. Yes? It must be like on street parking. Maximum stay one hour. Then move on

  3. Tariffs apply 24 hours but only one tariff displayed for part of the day? I don’t think Stephen Hawkins would know how to answer your question!

  4. On the sign it says **Tariffs apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week**

  5. It would take you an hour just to read this notice, and probably longer to understand all of its implications. A masterpiece of obfuscation.

  6. Was with a friend in town (Belfast) and we swerved right out of a parking lot with this sign. It looked like a trap to enforce their £100 parking charge and £125 clamp release fee.

There was no parking pay machine or tickets issued. So you have to use their app?

Just feels like a scam or a trap.

  7. This gets worse the more you look at it.

It almost implies during the day the first hour is free (as they’ve no charge attached to that time period) but you can only stay for an hour whereas parking in evening and overnight, you can stay as long as you want within the hours but will be charged 50p per hour.

  8. Reminds me of the guy with the masters degree raging at traffic/a parade not parting for him and his masters degree, was one of the all time reddit moments

  9. Put the code in the app. It’ll ask for what you need to pay. And won’t let you stay longer than you are allowed to.

  10. Don’t even think about parking there at any time on a Monday 😂

  11. It’s like the zero-G toilet instructions in the movie 2001, ferociously complicated to put people off using it.

  12. You roll a D6:

    1-2 50p

    3-4 Free

5-6 Clamped!! Oh no do not pass Go.

  13. This sort of nonsense is what I use ChatGPT for! The cost is not stated for the periods when 1hour parking is enforced. It’s absolutely a scam trying to catch folk out with a clamp!

Here’s a clear summary of the parking costs and time limits based on the sign:

    🚗 Parking Summary

    🕐 Busy Periods (Peak Times)

    When:

    Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 18:00

    Saturday to Monday: 06:00 – 13:00

    Maximum stay: 1 hour

Cost: Not stated on the sign

    🌙 Off-Peak Periods

    When:

    Monday to Friday: 18:00 – 06:00

    Saturday 13:00 – Monday 06:00

    Cost: 50p per hour

No maximum stay is mentioned for these hours

    ⚠️ Fines & Penalties

Parking fine: £100 (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days)

Clamp release fee: £125 (reduced to £100 if paid Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)

    ❗Note

The sign does not state the cost for parking during the busiest times, even though those are the only times with a strict 1-hour limit. This lack of pricing could cause confusion for drivers.

  14. I have a post graduate diploma as I didn’t submit dissertation for Masters, can I answer?

  15. Surely any judge would agree with the consensus here and deem that completely unenforceable?

  16. I thought only unlicensed illegally parked vehicles can be clamped in NI

  17. Hard to decipher, a-greed. (No pun intended)

    Monday-Friday: 1800-0600hrs
    Saturday-Monday: 1800-0600hrs
    Cost: 50p p/h

    Monday-Friday: 0600-1800hrs
    Saturday-Monday: 0600-1800hrs
Cost: 50p for one hour. If you exceed the hour then it’s game on.

What does game on mean, in this case? F*dge knows

  18. During the free times it’s 1 hour max, during the charging times you can pay for multiple hours, if you go by the times specifically under the bold letters.

  19. monday to friday 6-18
    saturday to monday 6-13

    monday to friday 18-6
    saturday to monday 13-6

i wouldn’t dare to park there on a monday lol
there’s too many options between 6-13 or 13-18

  20. lmao by the time u read that, let alone decipher its dark art, u’ll owe the cunts 3 quid
