Sweden’s defensive shape is doing well to hand England the uptick in possession it craves without (thus far) risking conceding. While England has outshot Sweden 4-2 since half-time, only one chance (Hemp’s header in the 51st minute) has threatened, with the other three shots coming from further out all being blocked.
Wiegman is trying to shake things up with these subs, and James is increasingly getting onto the ball. These last 20 minutes will be a massive test of the defending champs’ incisiveness.
