  5. Lets be honest, the fuel efficiency rules werent doing shit anyways. Vehicles are getting bigger and bigger, and we are getting fewer and fewer fuel efficient options between ford, chevy, and companies like that not selling normal sedans anymore.

  6. The rest of the world is electrifying. Not keeping up with modernization and leading the charge is how empires crumble. Ottoman Empire was decimated in WW1 because of this just as an example. Today the biggest weapon countries wild is economic might. We’re dulling our blade with these regressive decisions. US automakers must develop this tech to compete overseas anyways.

  14. GREAT ! Cafe Standard have ruined the car companies. Having to build cars at a loss to make the government happy.

    I remember when people bought fuel efficient cars because it made sense in there pocket books.

    Mandates destroy everything, the free market always works. Build a better anything and people will buy it.

    Anyways, I’ll continue to drive my PHEV in electric only mode, and ride my PEV / bikes as often as I can.

    People who don’t care and are super selfish and don’t want to be team players, who buy 3 ton gas hogs, despite fuel economy rules, will continue buying and driving those.

  18. China outsold the USA 2:1 globally in ALL car sales. It was about 15:1 for EVs. China is dominating in EV technology and now America will be left behind even more :/

  19. I mean… the fuel economy rules were so half-baked that they accidentally incentivized worse fuel economy. If we ever get to fix this mess maybe it’ll turn out for the better

  20. Spain here, I got my EV last month, I charge it with solar panels on my roof, full total economy. Who want gas anymore? Not me.
