Couldn’t just leave it there now could I? A good few of us got quite the haul! Selfish? Maybe. Cheap as hell and worth it? Absolutely!
Had to repost to add, I use this machine daily, this isn’t a holding charge where they’re gonna charge more later. They usually charge the full amount instantly. It was working with cash too, didn’t accept pennies so you used 5p and it worked, this shows the asking price was 1p.
The machine ASKED for 1p for all items before you tried to pay, so this isn’t a card error. It’s literally asked for 1p, I paid 1p. There NO way it can charge later, they haven’t advertised or asked for more. That would be like buying a can for £1 and then them taking £100 later without any mention of £100 on the machine – not happening.

Vending machine at the sports center (by the climbing wall and tennis pitches) used to take useless, pain to spend 20p coins (5 of them), then credit a pound to spend.
Once selection and receipt of said pound choccy bar had been completed, it did the whole money shifting about thing.
It’d have a paddy, drop the 20p coins into the bank, not register it, throw a pound of change onto the floor in the shape of a crisp £1 coin and then deliver the choccy.
Vending Machine error in your favour. Collect hyperglycaemia.

OP would be pure blubbing if the machine failed to dispense but thinks it’s OK to help himself when there’s been an obvious error in the price charged.
Got off a flight at Heathrow one time and the vending machine in baggage collection had malfunctioned and everything was free.

Personally I would have just used a £1 coin and keep buying instead of using a card but hey
Stuff of dreams! The vending machine at my work charges a huge Haribo share bag for only 50p still. Always buy one on my office days.

I found the same error when I was at school, the vending machine was charging 0p for pickled onion flavour monster munch! You still had to put money in, but then just empty the monster munch and get ya money back! 👍
