OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The first official neighborhood association for Omaha’s Little Italy neighborhood got underway Thursday.
Board members met at the Santa Lucia Hall on Pierce Street. This was made possible after the neighborhood association was recently sanctioned by the city.
First Alert 6 spoke with those who live in the neighborhood about what this means for the community.
“More than anything else we hope to be a liaison with the concerns that it might be present here in Little Italy, and be their voice and direct that voice to wherever it needs to go,” Pat Venditte, Little Italy resident, said.
Little Italy residents also said having the neighborhood association will provide opportunities for grant funding and neighborhood displays during the holidays.
