Covid threat being ignored in England for ideological reasons, say NHS leaders

  1. > Taylor later told BBC Breakfast: “In our view, we do not have a ‘living with Covid’ plan, we have a ‘living without restrictions’ ideology, which is different.

“Yeah, but he’s an expert and fuck experts” – The Tories, probably.

  2. * We are over the hump of the latest peak of infections.

    * Hospital admissions are 50% of what they were at the last peak and the 7 day average admissions are falling.

    * Average length of a hospital stay is 2.8 days vs 7 days with previous variants

    * People on ventilation is 8% of what it was at the last peak.

    * Excess deaths are below the 5 year average.

    * Daily deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate by date of death are 8% of what they were at the peak

    * 85% are double dosed, 68% boosted, 4th doses being offered to most vulnerable.

    * 98% of the country have antibodies, either through prior infection or vaccination.

What is it people are expecting the Government to do at this stage?

Infection rates between Scotland and England show fuck all difference, so masks are doing the precise sum of jack shit to stop infections.

I genuinely am at a loss as to what people think should be done at this stage other than spend money on the NHS.

  3. It’s just so hard to know who to believe. Epidemiologists, NHS leaders, virologists and the like, or tabloid media, politicians known to be liars and people on the internet who have repeatedly been proved wrong.

  4. Thanks to the total lifting of restrictions my Nan should be passing away sometime this week after being exposed to COVID

All I can say is please people wear a mask in crowds and indoors, isolate if you have the virus and wash your hands, doing these very, very simple things save lives and put less pressure on the NHS.

  5. It will be a global scandal when we find out the true consequences of catching COVID, even multiple times down the line. I’m anticipating brand new avenues of cancers, autoimmune diseases and organ damage. We’ve barely scratched the surface of the research and I’ve never heard of people having a lingering hacking cough 8 weeks after prior infection for common disease.

This virus is dangerous and China knows it, they’re isolating entire cities and wouldn’t be doing so knowing they need a lot of manual labor to sustain their economy.

  6. I have covid at the moment (am on day 7 and it’s kicking my ass!) but keep seeing people talking about free testing being over – I’ve still been able to order free LFT’s on the gov website? Are people referring to something else, PCR tests for example? Thanks!

  7. i want to know the numbers of people like myself with permanent fatigue, to one degree or another, after having covid.

  8. Nobody gives a shit anymore and who can blame them, it really isn’t a dangerous disease anymore, just a bit of a nuisance, so I think we will just have to accept everyone will get sick a few times a year.

  9. It’s too expensive to keep a state of emergency up going forward and that what restrictions basically were.

I’m a cop and will never issue a covid ticket out again. Because there unethical as high power people have got away with breaking the law, so normal people shouldn’t be pursued.
