  2. What to know… don’t visit us until the government becomes stable again. There are lots of beautiful places to see, I recommend the BVIs, Bahamas, and Bermuda.

  20. Dear rest of the world, we have some issues to sort out and we’re not fit for visitors these days. Please be patient and check back with us periodically, but don’t hold your breath.

  22. So A family of 5 will be looking at over $1k in extra fees before even stepping foot on soil. Tourism is already down because of politics but this might be the nail in the coffin for any business struggling to get by now. I can only guess this is to exploit guests coming for the World Cup.

  23. Money that tourists could have spent during their trip will instead go straight to the federal government. I can’t wait to hear how they spin this to make it sound like it’s good for American businesses.

  24. Not a fan of this administration, but this is actually a novel idea. It’s like a Security Deposit. If you stay within the bounds of the Visa – like not overstay or get a job while here as a tourist, you get your money back.

    Sadly this explanation is buried in articles at the end. It’s certainly not as outrage causing as the headlines suggest.
