Erdogan Accuses Israel Of Using Druze As Pretext To Expand Into Syria

1. >Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday accused Israel of using the Druze minority in Syria as a pretext for expanding into the war-torn country.

   >”Israel, using the Druze as an excuse, has been expanding its banditry into neighbouring Syria over the past two days,” Erdogan said in a televised speech after the weekly cabinet meeting.

   >I want to state this once again, clearly and directly: Israel is a lawless, unruly, unprincipled, spoiled, pampered, and greedy terrorist state,” he said.

   >”At this stage, the biggest problem in our region is Israel’s aggression… If the monster is not stopped immediately, it will not hesitate to throw first our region, then the world, into flames.”

2. Pretty sure we can all see that. Lots of evidence of IDF in the groups pouring over the border the last few days. The flags and teluric cubes or wtf the zionazis wear sometimes. Weird how the Druze rushing over the border had all seemed organized and equipped to cross as soon as the sectarian violence notched up. Almost like there was lots of planning ahead of time.

3. It’s rich coming from turkey- who literally expands into other countries.
   Hell- they still occupy cyprus. 

4. What’s Israel’s end goal here? Forming a Druze protectorate in Sweida province that they use as a buffer for their recently seized buffer zone for their buffer zone in the Golan Heights?

   Things don’t seem to be going super well so far given that the Bedouin tribal militias have captured swathes of territory even after Israeli attacks forced the actual government forces away. Maybe they’re just going to try and keep the civil war going indefinitely with an Israeli-backed, Idlib-style pseudo-state?

   Netanyahu wants endless war to stave off the inevitable October 7 inquiry (guess who supported Qatar funding Hamas?), but I can’t see Israeli boots on the ground going unpunished domestically or by the Arab states. Whatever they’re attempting with Al-Hijiri could very well backfire if it gets thousands of Druze killed.

   I don’t think the Israeli propaganda push is going to fly when Al-Hijiri’s fighters are currently filming themselves taking hostages, killing civilians and burning Bedouin homes. The tribal side is committing war crimes as well, but Israel has thrown their lot in with militias commiting the same atrocities Hamas was called ‘worse than ISIS’ for perpetrating.

5. I mean he may not be entirely wrong, but it’s a bit rich coming from someone who used the war and his own engagement to expand into Syria, isn’t it?

6. well geee.. how else is Bibi the war criminal gonna stay in power, Israel will now be in a forever war with everyone they can just so Bibi doesn’t get ousted and can illegal stay in power forever.

7. Netanyahu never cared about anyone but himself. Why would he care about these people either?

   By stealing land, he instigates conflict and by keeping Israel in a constant state of conflict, he gets to remain in power.
