I don’t think it’s guaranteed that a group of well-meaning local volunteers can better preserve a listed building than the compliance department of a national developer could, and a bit of external investment to make it into a home for someone seems a way better idea than using it to host an occasional bingo night.

  2. Scotland have a community right to buy, England has a community right to bid and Wales doesn’t have anything similar at all.
