Baking powder doesn’t necessarily go off if you’ve kept it dry. You can test it with a small amount in some warm water. If it bubbles it’s still good, regardless of the use by date.
It’s a ‘best before’ date, not a ‘use by’ date so you might actually be OK using it depending on what it is. Bit of a gamble though, only if you like living on the edge! 😀
