My wife is Latvian and we live in the US, but I want our kids to learn their mother tongue.

My plan for helping with that is to have kids movies and shows in Latvian. However, they’re very hard to find.

I’ve found only one Russian seller on ebay with maybe a dozen LV kids movies, and I’ve already bought almost all of them.

How can I get access to Latvian content?

Is there some sort of online Latvian store I could access from here and get US shipping?
Or a niche US reseller that imports?

Is Disney+ or something similar available in Latvian?

Could I use one of those little VPN boxes to make my Roku think it has a Latvian IP address and get access to content that way?

**Update**:

– eBay for DVDs & Blu-Rays (or a friend in Europe)
– Go3 is Region-Locked and requires a VPN, but works on Android TV
– Tet+ can be watched from the US without a VPN
– Helio iTV requires desktop
– YouTube for kids shows
– Ausma https://www.youtube.com/c/Tutaslietas
– Uke Lele
– Tutas Lietas (like Catie’s Classroom?)
– Lots more great links and content in the comments

  1. Streaming services could be tricky, and the demand is low, so that could work even without VPN. There are plenty of free stuff on filmas.lv and you can contact them for access to all their archive..

You could try GO3.lv, tet.plus and other local “streaming” and “interactive” services..

  2. How old are yours? There are some free stuff on YouTube, but it’s for preschoolers, Tutas lietas, Lupatiņi and Ukulele.

Might give a try Helio TV, one of our own streaming service. I can share an account with you just to test if you get anything at the other end. HMU

  3. tet.plus is a steaming service with quite a bit of Latvian content. I use it in the US and don’t think most Latvian shows and movies actually require a VPN for the most part. It has plenty of children’s content as well!

  4. I highly suggest you [https://latvijasfilma.lv/](https://latvijasfilma.lv/) , you can watch them in Vimeo. So no annoying VPNs and so on. But you can go also for streamin services. go3 probably is the best, with original Latvian shows (like Netflix originals). additionally check Tet + streaming, ViaPlay, LMT straume. Lots of movies in youtube as well.

  5. You can subscribe to Latvijas.tv

She can then stream content and review anything that goes 30 back. She’ll appreciate this when anything she’d really like to watch live comes up, like the Olympics or 18th of november concerts or Dziesmu svētki.

  6. app tet+, you need to pay 4.99-9.99€ per month to see a lot of latvian movies and tv shows 🙂 there is go3.lv.
also just writing “mulfilmas” or “multenes” or “filmas” in youtube you surely can find something.
