The Malta Financial Services Authority on Friday warned about two unlicensed companies and one cloned entity.
In a statement, the MFSA said Regtech Assets Management, which can be found online at https://regtechassetsmgt.com purports to be an investment firm specilalising in cryptocurrency assets operating from an addres in Malta.
The MFSA said Regtech is neither a Maltese registered company nor licensed or otherwise authorised by the MFSA to provide any financial services.
The MFSA also highlighted the case of an individual “purporting to represent Malta Capital Management Limited” who has been approaching individuals and companies with investment opportunities.
Matla Capital Management Ltd had an internet presence at www.maltacapital-mgmt.com but this website has since been taken down and is no longer accessible.
While the company was previously licensed by the MFSA, its investment services license was cancelled on regulatory grounds on June 11, 2020.
The Authority urged caution when approached by anyone claiming to represent Malta Capital Management Limited, particularly in relation to investment offers or the solicitation of funds.
The MFSA also warned about fraudsters using the details and website contents of a genuine company Alchemy Markets Ltd “in an effort to deceive the public”.
It said that these three websites: https://nexusprimeoption.com/, https://6ixmarkets.com/ and https://cravatrade.com/ – are not related to Maltese registered companies nor are they authorised to provide any financial services in or from Malta.
Moreover, these websites have no association with Alchemy Markets Ltd and appear to be clones of the website of the legitimate entity.
The MFSA said scam victims should stop all transactions with the suspicious company and contact the authority.
