Absolutely behind the concept of it. *Actual* specialist rape investigators, rather than the farce of their in house domestic abuse specialists. Proper training and resource and not just giving people the job title because it’ll sound better.
Isn’t there a massive detective shortage and major retention issues in CID?
This kind of policy is obviously a no brainer, but where will those investigators come from?
ah yes of course, the police can just pull some detectives out of their arse and call it a day. Do the MP’s even know of the detective resources?
Sounds great to me, so I assume their also advocating for the increase of funds to pay for these specialist unit right?
Yeah they totally need one and it should be in the parliamentary police unit lol.
