Switzerland is currently the richest country by market exchange rates. Adjusted for price and hours worked, it comes 5th, with Norway on top.

  2. problem with these adjustments is that they are often a bit subjective and can be used to show what an author of a study wants to show.

  3. Since most people are not exceptionally rich, like million(s) worth of assets, those statistics turn more useless by the day due to the difference between the poorest and richest divide bigger and bigger. Give me those numbers for the median citizen and let’s talk again.

  4. GDP per capita does not tell all that much about how well off the average or even median person is, especially in small countries that house lots of international companies.
