A lip reader has suggested that Prince Harry might have hinted at his intentions to leave the Royal Family to Meghan Markle a full two years before the duo formally resigned from their Royal duties.
In an upcoming Channel 5 documentary airing tonight, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, Meghan and Harry are captured in an intense exchange just before they participate in a Remembrance Sunday service in November 2018.
The footage shows Harry and Meghan engrossed in conversation while seated together. While it would be challenging for most onlookers to interpret their words, forensic lip reader Nicola Hickling believes she has cracked precisely what was being discussed, reports the Express.
At the start of their chat, according to Nicola, Meghan is seen advising her husband: “Take advantage of the situation,” with Harry querying, “Today?” She then suggests, “Do it tonight.”
As their dialogue progresses, Harry appears to lean in towards Meghan, saying, “You do realise that this is the end?” to which Meghan quickly responds, “Yes, I do know.”
Notwithstanding this alleged interaction, it wasn’t until two years later that Harry and Meghan would shockingly announce their decision to step down from their positions within the Royal Family.
Following their bombshell departure, the couple have made their home in the celebrity haven of Montecito, California. Although the Sussexes have occasionally visited the UK, prospects for a reconciliation with the Royal Family seem slim in the foreseeable future.
The last sighting of the Royal pair on British soil was in September 2022, following the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth.
While the royals have largely remained silent publicly about the family rift, Prince Harry offered some insight with the publication of his memoir, ‘Spare’, in 2022.
In a passage from his book, Harry describes a physical altercation with his brother, alleging that William referred to Meghan as “difficult, “rude,” and “abrasive.”
Harry recounts the 2019 incident in ‘Spare’: “It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations will air this evening (July 19) on Channel 5 at 7 p.m.
