19 July 2025 – The German industrial company IMS Gear is set to open its first European production facility outside Germany in the Croatian city of Osijek.
The announcement follows a visit by the Mayor of Osijek, Ivan Radić, to IMS Gear’s headquarters and production plants in Donaueschingen and Villingen-Schwenningen, located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
The visit highlighted the strong cooperation and significant investment potential the company brings to Osijek.

“We are pleased that the company’s first production plant on European soil outside Germany will be located in Osijek. An interesting fact about IMS Gear is that one in every four cars produced in the world contains a component made by them. We are proud they have chosen Osijek as the place where they will continue to grow, especially as Osijek is a city that is clearly on the rise.”

Since taking office in 2021, Radić noted that the city has seen a significant employment increase, with 4,500 more people in work compared to four years ago. He expressed confidence that the arrival of IMS Gear will further strengthen this positive trend.
The new plant, operated by IMS Gear Croatia d.o.o., will be built in the Nemetin Business Zone in Osijek. It marks the company’s first large-scale production site in Europe outside its home country.
