I’ll be 80 then. I hope there’s a nice sun terrace at the retirement home.
Yeah man, but it’s a dry heat
Thus Sovicille will feel like Brazaville
Siena not Sienna!!!
Just move the country and we’ll be all good
No it wont.
Hopefully I can retire to Iceland.
Time to install that AC!
No it won’t. This is a vast oversimplification – a couple weather variables will shift to match Sienna, but climate chaos doesn’t mean uniform shifts in climate like this. It means *chaos*. Mean temperatures don’t have the same meaning when the variance is so high.
HVAC business will boom over the next 20 years
Look forward to some nice vineyards. Off to trademark “ Chilterns Classico “
Sounds great!
Went to Siena last year (👌🏽) feel cheated now (😠)
I been hearing this since 1999
Excellent. The UK in the sunshine is an outstanding place to be.
People will still say UK is cold lmao
The comment by u/Chlorophilia on the original post adds a lot of context to this. I will quote directly, hope it’s okay:
“This is a really irresponsible graphic by National Geographic. Before I get called a denier, I’m a climate scientist.
The idea is good, but they’ve used a completely unrealistic projection for future CO2 emissions. Specifically, they’ve used RCP8.5, which is now universally regarded by climate researchers as extremely unlikely. CO2 emissions have been significantly below RCP8.5 for well over a decade, and this scenario results in warming around 50% higher than the expected warming based on existing policies. Many people are not aware of this but CO2 emissions are no longer accelerating and are reaching a plateau. To follow RCP8.5, all of this would have to be reversed, which isn’t going to happen.
The situation is bad enough without making exaggerations that are not backed by science or observations.”
Once again, not my own comment. All credit to u/Chlorophilia
That’s a good thing
Excellent!
But still with overcast skies and short days in winter, which is what sucks about the climate here.

I’ll be dead by then. What good is that?
If the NAOC doesn’t collapse by then
Yeah but the seaside towns will still be shit
We can save some money on holidays then
You could probably shave 10 years off that estimate
And Sienna Italy will be as hot as modern Bahrain presumably
Feels pretty high on the Scoville scale already tbh lol
This is based on : [https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/graphics/see-how-your-citys-climate-might-change-by-2070-feature](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/graphics/see-how-your-citys-climate-might-change-by-2070-feature)
The prediction is also based on worse-case modelling from a discredited model. But doom’n’gloom sells.
