good: we don’t need this overpriced capitalistic bullshit here… we should, instead, build our own defensive systems, and tailor them to our own specific needs; switzerland should have also started its own jet program after acquiring the f/a-18, instead of relying yet again on the us (or any other third-party vendor for that matter) as a vendor

To be fair, Ukraine needs it more than we do.
I find this mentality and european egoism to be the reason for our undoing. Ukraine (still standing fiercely) is holding the door shut for all of our privileges and we here are bickering about „deal“. I say: SEND MORE and help em. I‘d even argue we should pay for it. They are helping us all anyway. Helping them in humanitarian and military ways is the least we could do.
If we continue this „Eigenbrötler“ mentality it will be our undoing.
