As a personal souvenir of the Laulu- & Tantsupidu, I'd like to download from the ERR archive the corresponding three streams, as a video file (for example an mp4). Do you know how to do it?

My motivation:

– I made sure not to bother anybody during the concerts by holding my phone in the air, confident that I could find a much more professionally made video footage later, on the ETV website.

– I'd like to have my souvenir videos on my own hard drive. You can never know what will happen to the ERR archive website in 10 years or so (budget cut, IT mistake, …).

I read that ETV itself is offering to send me such videos, billing me for their work. I'm bit afraid that such an order would be too bureaucratic and I'd prefer to do the work myself.

  1. Option 1. Screen recorder
Option 2. Open the video page with your favourite browser. Open console, look for a m3u file in the video html tag or network connections. Use your favourite video player to download each clip. Stitch the clips with a video editor. (Hope my memory serves me correctly, I did not verify these instructions)
Use only in accordance to the terms of use/copyright law.

  2. Like 2019 Tantsu- ja Laulupidu they are maybe making USB full stream again. In end of the year.
