Croatia is experiencing one of its busiest tourist weekends of the summer, with heavy traffic reported across major roads, ferry ports, and airports.

The A1 motorway saw early morning congestion, though conditions later eased, with no major accidents reported. By 7 p.m., nearly 67,000 vehicles had passed through the Lučko and Demerje toll stations. Croatian Highways (HAC) expects more than 240,000 vehicles over the weekend.

The Croatian Auto Club (HAK) reported queues of 2–3 km on the A1 toward Zagreb and 6 km near the Trakošćan toll station on the A2 from Slovenia and Austria. Drivers are advised to travel during early morning or late evening hours if possible.

Ferry traffic has also surged, with over 66,500 passengers and 15,000 vehicles expected to pass through ports today, especially on routes like Split–Supetar. Jadrolinija is operating additional ferries as needed.

At Split Airport, a typical peak-season weekend is underway, with 220 flights and around 56,000 passengers expected over Saturday and Sunday. Most travellers are arriving from the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden. July passenger numbers are expected to exceed 750,000.
