HSBC is notorious of shutting down business accounts. I’ve had an account shut down, as have many contacts and clients. It really isn’t a bank you would want to have a business account at.
This happened to our residents association. Total annual income per year is c.£7k. They wanted huge volumes of forms filled in, which we eventually did – only for them to close the account anyway

HSBC has a track record of letting large companies, warlords and other undesirable human rights abusers and nonces launder money through their bank.
