  1. Most of these points should be intuitive for people trying to immigrate anywhere in the world, but for some reason they need to be repeated constantly here

  2. 25% of the posts here summarized in one article…

  3. The article is pretty much common sense. Also there is no shortage in IT.

  4. What is also needed is a similar “sobering” article on studying in Germany. There is a lot of delusional thinking or (futile) attempts to game the system there as well, eventually leading to frustration and trademark r/germany rants.

  5. So TLDR: DW news are misleading with the headlines of “ Germany desperately needs foreign workers” and don’t come to Germany with high expectations if you don’t know German.

  6. Very on point article, especially about the way leadership roles are built and operated here.

  7. The article is completely outdated. There is no shortage for those jobs:

    * IT developers, data analysts, SAP specialists
    * Electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers

  8. This article both reads and looks like it was directly lifted out of chatgpt.

  9. I can only add value from marketing side. The company I work for now and the company I switched from just downsized both marketing dept. in half. I’m one of the lucky few to have made it through, but I’m clearly 3-4x in expertise within my current dept, essentially run marketing for the CMO so she can focus on strategic topics.

Have a technical background, zero German. Company forced English as a main language right before I joined.

  10. At least I know logistics is still wanted 😮‍💨

  11. I’m curious how is market for someone in design, specifically UI, UX and artistic skills. Asking for a friend.
