US-NATO deal: How will US arms reach Ukraine? • FRANCE 24 English
where we are going to be sending them weapons and they’re going to be paying for them. The US president has a new plan. At the behest of the NATO military alliance, he has agreed to supply American weapons, including Patriot air defense systems, missiles, and ammunition to Ukraine. European allies will bear the costs and then donate the arms. Germany massively, but also Finland and Denmark and Sweden and Norway, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada. They all want to be part of this and this is only the first wave. There will be more. The US president said NATO will coordinate everything. But questions remain around how the alliance does have an internal support and procurement agency that provides acquisition and logistics support to NATO, its allies, partners, and other international organizations. It currently delivers military assistance from allies to Ukraine. However, it does not have a mechanism to pull funds to procure weapons. NATO’s common budget amounts to roughly €4.6 billion annually, of which the United States is one of the biggest funders, paying approximately 16% alongside Germany. Meaning that if the United States does not want to foot the bill, a separate account would need to be created for European parties who want to purchase the stocks. Then there’s the issue of timing. How long will it take for weapons to be in Ke’s hands? The plan is to allow uh Europeans, Germans, Norwegians, and various others to actually supply their their Patriot missiles from their inventories immediately or as soon as possible uh to Ukraine uh with the promise that they can backfill with more modern uh and uh up-to-date weapons. But there are questions about whether that there are sufficient stock piles uh in Europe or even in the American things to supply enough weapons for Ukraine. The US president also has a track record of back flipping on announcements and only time will tell if he sticks to this one.
US President Donald Trump’s promise to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours is now a distant memory. He now sees Russian President Vladimir Putin as the main obstacle to peace and is offering Patriot air defense systems and other weapons to Kyiv—paid for by European allies. Supporters at home may view it as a win, with billions flowing into the U.S. arms industry. But how will the deal work in practice?

through the massive undergrown tunnels that come all the way from Poland to this location, they had a documentary on these. It's ten fifteen years ago. They're old salt, mines and other cave systems.
Mongolians who live in Europe and UK look down on Europeans and the British and they wish to emigrate to USA.
Since Trump keep saying the word "Deal", I feel like almost every network use it as much as they can for some reason.
As it’s trumputin, I expect he’ll just fire them in that direction and say they’ve been delivered successfully.
To point the reporting, accurate.
If you believe Trump, I've got some swampland in Florida to sell you.
What more do you want France? France who has spent less than almost all the nato members. Where's your famous French Legionaires? They've been to Crimea before. What's the matter now?
AHHH…. BRING IT ON !@#$ RA RA RASPUTIN SAID MY ORESHNIK TURNS JUNK INTO VALUABLE SCRAP AS SOLD TO CN WHO GIVES THE BEST PRICES FOR THEM !@#$
I think that the deal should go through as Kyiv has an immedite need but future military contracts can always be renegotiated. The Patriot Air Defense Systems have proven themselves effective time and again and they would be getting the best equipment available. As for Russia/Ukraine I will say this. If they both used the same system of government they could have resolved this issue in a court of law instead of on a battlefield. If you want American success then all you have to do is adopt the U.S. Constitution and its amendments. A simple government reorganization. Do it like the Americans do and what your nations prosper. It protects everyones rights and that is how Americans live in each of the 50 states which all have their own versions. The E.U. could create its own version as well. I would not oppose, as I do now, Ukraine and the U.K. joining the E.U. if I knew the peoples rights were protected by the U.S. constitution and its amendments. I am surprised China hasn't copied it yet. They copy everything else.
EDIT: And America is a part of NATO so why wouldn't they be able to sell arms to NATO? The E.U. is the future and NATO is the here and now.
