A MAN has now been charged following a serious of protests outside a hotel in Epping.

It was announced earlier today a third arrest has been made after protest outside The Bell Hotel was disrupted by people throwing projectiles, including eggs and fireworks, on Thursday.

It is understood that the protests are linked to immigration and the current use of The Bell Hotel to accommodate asylum seekers.

Another protest is being held today.

A 33-year-old man from Loughton was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage, yesterday.

The force has now confirmed Keith Silk, 33, of Torrington Drive, Loughton, was charged with one count of violent disorder and one count of criminal damage.

He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.
