Hapoel Tel Aviv continues to bolster its roster ahead of the upcoming EuroLeague season. Just hours after announcing the signing of Chris Jones from Valencia, the Israeli club confirmed another key addition – veteran point guard Yiftach Ziv.
The 30-year-old Israeli has committed to a three-year deal after arriving from Hapoel Holon. Last season, Ziv averaged 7 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.6 rebounds across nine FIBA Champions League games, while his domestic league numbers were even more impressive, posting 10.5 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds over 33 appearances.
Ziv emphasized how happy he is about joining Hapoel:
“I’m happy and excited to join Hapoel Tel Aviv, especially in such a historic and meaningful season — our debut year in the EuroLeague. It’s a great honor for me, and I thank the club for the trust. I come with hunger, energy, and a lot of motivation to contribute, grow, and help the team meet all its goals. I can’t wait to start training and meet the red fans. Let’s go, Hapoel!”

Ziv brings a wealth of experience to the squad, having played for numerous teams throughout his career, including Saint Quentin, Granada, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Gilboa Galil, Ironi Nahariya, Maccabi Ashdod, Bnei Herzliya, Maccabi Haifa, Elitzur Ramle, Hapoel Kiryat Tiv’on, and Ironi Kiryat Ata.
He is Hapoel’s ninth signing this summer, following notable arrivals such as Vasilije Micic, Chris Jones, Tai Odiase, Dan Oturu, Elijah Bryant, Itay Segev, Tyler Ennis, and Collin Malcolm.
At the same time, the club has seen several departures, including Noam Yaacov, Marcus Bingham, and Joe Ragland. Meanwhile, the future of Bruno Caboclo remains uncertain.
