The peak is at 149bpm, compared to my resting rate of around 70bpm. My fitness tracker also reckons I burned about 600kcal over the 40 minute sessions. While it looks like sitting down and steering it's pretty hard work to manhandle those karts around the bends.

What does tailgated a few miles mean? To me tailgating is what you do when you drink before a sporting event!
That’s fun tho, cool that you got data of physical exertion vs adrenaline pumping fun
The estimated calorie expenditure on most fitness trackers is [pretty rudimentary](https://theconversation.com/how-accurate-are-wearable-fitness-trackers-less-than-you-might-think-236462). I’d hazzard to guess that it assumes that the elevated heart rate coincided with lots of other muscles using energy.
Interesting note on the tailgating! Future reference, dont let people tailgate you. Move over and let them pass! Its not worth the risk of a collision, or your heart rate increasing.
I get a modest workout mowing my big yard with my riding mower. I average around 120 bpm.
I recently went go karting and was surprised at how much I was exerting myself. Once I stopped, I realized my heart rate was up and I was breathing heavily.
I thought we were on r/garmin for a moment!
Your resting heart rate is in the 80s. Get some cardio in my dude.

Pink – laying in bed/sitting; yellow – walking; red – driving on the highway; blues- heavy rainfall
I’ll never forget wearing a HR monitor to the theater to see Mad Max: Fury Road. It looked like I was full-on working out for two straight hours.
Just imagine if there was a zip line going over a pool
Bro thinks he lost 600calories driving a kart around for less then an hour lol
I can’t find the “wife mad that I didn’t take out the trash as promised” on the chart.
Huh. I usually just go to the place and drive the things. What’s all this other stuff lol
