  1. Definitely an old clothes iron, as far as I remember there should be a metal insert that you can remove. The insert was placed in a fireplace to heat it up and then inserted back into the iron. Don’t know if this is the case here.

Get someone to make a handle for it, clean it up , I think it would make an interesting decoration.

  2. Its antique iron , that you’d heat up on a fire (or a range(and use . would have been a wooden handle between the two round holes at the top. You wouldnt see many of them after the 1960s as there were still a lot of nana’s/granny’s who *”wouldnt use that eletrical yoke”* back then.

Whats weird though is that its got Kilos ..as everything in Ireland back then was still in imperial weights ..might be French or German?

  3. Yep it’s an old iron, some of them had a shield you slip on after heating it up as not to blacken the clothes, make a grand door stop, have you made any enemies cause if it wasn’t there before, it might have been destined for your window

  4. Could also be a cutters (tailor) iron. They’re heavy to mesh lining to the insides of suits.
Have a look at the movie called “The Outfit”, there’s s scene in it, where he has a similar yoke.

  5. Pretty sure whoever left that there has to pay you money for stopping in front of your house, but idk I haven’t played monopoly in a while.

  6. Did you really need to ask Reddit? It’s fairly obvious what it is. There’s two things shaped like that in the world, an iron and a boat; and you’d be hard pushed to go sailing on that.
