Hajduk Split

Rijeka, Hajduk Split and Varaždin will begin their respective journeys in European competition this week as qualifiers for UEFA club tournaments get underway.

Rijeka are first to step onto the European stage, hosting Bulgarian side Ludogorets on Tuesday evening at Rujevica. Kick off is scheduled for 20:45.

Hajduk follow on Wednesday with a trip to Azerbaijan to take on Zira at 17:30.

Zira finished second in the Azerbaijani league last season and will be a stern challenge for the Split-based side.

Varaždin will round off the week’s fixtures when they welcome Portuguese outfit Santa Clara to Croatia on Thursday evening. That match is set to begin at 20:00.

Dinamo Already in the Group Stage

Thanks to the best UEFA coefficient among the teams in qualification rounds, Dinamo Zagreb have already secured a place in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.

The Croatian champions will start their European campaign on 24 September.

Croatian fans will be keeping a close eye on all three ties this week as hopes remain high for a strong showing in European football this season.
