Infanta Sofia of Spain is currently enjoying a well-deserved summer vacation after graduating from high school. But the young royal is college-bound soon.

Per media reports, Sofia will be attending university outside of Spain at Forward College, a private institution that operates in three European cities. Specifically, she’ll study for a degree in political science and international relations at three campuses in Paris, Berlin, and Lisbon.

Sofia, second-in-line to the Spanish throne after her sister Princess Leonor, recently graduated from the prestigious UWC Atlantic College in Wales, which her sister also graduated from in 2023. But unlike Leonor, who is now undergoing military training with the Spanish Armed Forces, Sofia has chosen an academic-focused path.

Forward College, founded in 2021 and affiliated with the London School of Economics, awards degrees recognized across the European Higher Education Area. The university promotes a more nomadic academic experience with “no lecture halls,” and students “are taught in small groups of approximately 15 students.” Tuition is approximately €18,500 ($22,000) per year for citizens of the European Union, and will be covered by the royal household’s official budget.

Infanta Sofia was recently seen supporting her sister as Princess Leonor completed her naval training, hitting a major milestone in her royal and military career. It was a special reunion for the royal family as King Felipe and Queen Letizia were also present at the ceremony at Marin on the northwest coast of Spain, where the King presented several of the graduates, including Leonor, with one of Spain’s highest military honors: the Grand Cross of Naval Merit with distinction.
