  2. This will never get enforced and the owners know it.

They are still free to have our of control dogs and hang bags of shit in trees.

  3. Oh great, because we all know how effective new laws, or adjusting old laws, is. Just by writing them everybody immediately changes their behaviour – not.

  4. Define poor behaviour, who will enforce this vague concept? Enforcement officers lol I think not, thankfully this is yet another unenforceable policy announcement brought to you by a government clean out of ideas.

  5. I know it’ll never get enforced but good. The amount of owners who just let their dogs do whatever is mad. God knows how they live with their dogs barking and jumping on people all day

  6. Be helpful to define what they mean by poor behaviour. Or has this been left deliberately subjective, like hate speech definitions?

  7. I’d pay the fine if Fenton chased those deers again….😊

  8. Shouldn’t be a fine, should be community service. A fine is a punishment on the poor only.

  9. I was going to suggest extending this to badly behaved children but I guess they will all be excused by made up neurodiversity labels.

  10. It won’t be enforced – just like the “fines” for dog mess being left.

Over the past two years I’ve noticed dog mess constantly being left en mass. I am a dog owner and it drives me insane trying to avoid it. It’s disgusting. I used to pick random mess up but now there’s so much I only pick up after my own dogs.

Latest thing I’m noticing where I live are dogs being off lead, and most of said dogs have no recall and owners sometimes don’t carry a lead at all. It’s so infuriating as my dogs generally prefer not to interact with other dogs after a few attacks from dogs off lead.

Went for a walk late the other night due to weather and rounded the corner to find a cane corso and the owner standing further back without a lead. We walked backwards and went the opposite direction. When my husband shouted over a dog that size should be on a lead, the owner got aggressive and shouted at him to “come over and say that to me”.
I already avoid this guy’s street as around Christmas time when I entered said street, the dog was blocking the public path near its flat. Standing its ground, with no owner in sight. Also, this dog is taller than a knee high fence/gate that has a few panels missing at the entrance to the ground floor flat it lives in, which the owner leaves the front door open so he can roam around. With a beware of the dog sign in view. I assume he’s lazy and as this flag has no turf/proper garden, it’s left to roam for toilet time in the street. Absolute moron.

People like this will only be fined or worse after incidences happen. Same as always.

I’ve also noticed more people treat their dog’s barking as background noise. Every time I venture into my garden, I am flanked by dogs that constantly back with unfettered access to their gardens all day every day. Go to my driveway, bark. Exit my cul-de-sac. Bark. Go to put something in the bins, bark. Owners on both sides that don’t remedy the behaviour nor train them. One side comments “it’s cute as they can sense my dogs in the garden and want to play”. Your dog jumping up and rebounding off the fence and incessantly barking is not cute for us. Ironically, when the grandparents dog sit, that dog has immaculate behaviour in the garden.
The other side’s dog is territorial but they “don’t understand why he does it” as when they take him in public “he doesn’t behave like that”. He behaves like that because you’ve allowed him too for 2+ years. Latest thing is to maybe 10% of the time call him (only if I’m out there 10+ minutes doing something like gardening as he literally barks the entire duration). They’ll stand at the back door, repeatedly shouting his name, before giving up and shutting the door, leaving him out there to bark. Both sides have one each. I have two. I get it, dogs wanted to bark. Naturally, (before either side moved in), my dogs wanted to bark at things but guess what, I care not to make my dogs a problem for people enjoying their gardens (new builds so small gardens, loads all backed onto each other) and I kept stopping them as soon as it started, to the point they won’t even bark at these dogs barking and jumping up at the adjoining fences.

So many lazy dog owners out there. I love dogs but I greatly dislike plenty of dog owners. Too many are unfit for the responsibility.

  11. Dogs need licensing with a DNA sample taken. That way poo can be linked back to the dog and the owner to fine them.

  12. My local co-op gets robbed daily by crackheads nearly everyday, hows about we start with sorting that then we can talk about the rest…
