It’s been three years since Julian Assange was imprisoned. Advocates say it’s time to let him go

  1. He was just refused permission to appeal by the supreme court, I’m not sure why the Home Sec hasn’t approved his extradition yet (yes, his fate is in the merciful hands of Priti Patel) but he is as good as gone now.

  2. I agree. It’s not our job to act as America’s holding cell in this situation. Also, I’m not sure how evil a person would have to be to make me think extraditing them to a state with some of the worst prison conditions in the western world would be okay, but I know he definitely doesn’t tick the box for me. When Sweden announced it was no longer looking to prosecute him over the rape charge he should have been told that he was as good as safe in the UK.

  3. The documents he published were incredibly damaging to America’s reputation, life in prison is too good for him.

  4. How are people so against exposing war crimes?

There are people ignoring Sweden’s accusations and still saying he’s bad

We let our government do bad things then when the media decides to call some of it bad, we act like it’s a surprise

  5. He should have been extradited to Sweden for rape and faced justice ages ago. Instead we’re just kowtowing to the US trying to stamp on our freedoms a bit more. He’ll probably end up in one of their torture camps now.

You don’t have to like Assange to recognise the way we’ve handled this as a country is completely fucked.
